Job summary

Ormond Hotels is seeking a driven finance professional to join the General Ledger team in Kuala Lumpur. You will work with the Financial Controller in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment, balancing strategic financial reporting with hands-on execution.

You will manage the general ledger, prepare journal entries, support month-end close, assist audits, and ensure SST compliance while maintaining orderly accounting records and systems. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or ACCA/equivalent required.
• Familiar with Malaysian Accounting Standards and Income Tax Act.
• 1–2 years in property management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the general ledger with accurate, timely recording of transactions.
• Prepare and process journal entries including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions and other month-end adjustments.
• Support month-end and year-end closing and ensure timely financial statements and management reports.
• Assist with internal and external audits by responding to queries.
• Ensure accounting records and documents are properly filed and maintained.
• Support SST compliance work such as tax filing, queries and payments.
• Handle banking matters such as deposits and applications.
• Maintain and monitor accounting systems.
• Identify, report and resolve operational discrepancies related to accounting.
• Liaise with bankers, auditors and regulators to ensure statutory compliance.

What Will You Do?

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, provisions, and other month-end adjustments to ensure deadlines are met and report procedures are accurate.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Assisting with internal and external audit by attending to audit queries.
• Responsible to ensure all accounting records and documents are properly files and maintained.
• Supporting SST compliance work such as tax filing, tax queries and tax payment.
• Responsible to handle banking matter such as deposit and application.
• Responsible to maintain and monitor accounting system.
• Assist identifying, reporting and resolving operational issues and discrepancies related to accounting.
• Assist to liaison with bankers, auditors and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirement.

Who Must You Be?

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy / ACCA or equivalent.
• Familiar with the Malaysian Accounting Standard and Income Tax Act.
• Candidate with 1-2 years working experience in a property management industry will be a plus.
