Ormond Group invites applications for a Finance Intern to support the group finance department in Kuala Lumpur. You will work closely with the CFO and finance professionals on a range of accounting tasks while gaining hands-on experience in a growing hospitality group.

The internship covers financial reporting, budgeting, audit support, and corporate finance projects, offering mentorship and potential pathway to a full-time position upon completion.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
• Basic understanding of financial principles and accounting concepts.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and compilation of monthly management reports and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management Accounts

Ormond Group is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support our group finance department. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in finance and accounting to gain practical experience in a dynamic and rapidly growing company. As a Finance Intern, you will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer, finance professionals and contribute to various finance and accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management Accounts

• Assist in the preparation and compilation of monthly management reports and financial statements.

Financial Analysis

• Assist in analysing revenue, expenses, profitability and other key financial indicators.
• Prepare financial analysis and reports to support management decision-making.
• Assist in comparing actual performance against budget and prior periods.
• Support the team in identifying variances and gathering information for further analysis.

Accounts & Reconciliation

• Assist with General Ledger activities and account reconciliations.
• Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations and assist in identifying discrepancies.
• Assist in reviewing financial records and ensuring supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
• Gain exposure to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes where required.

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Support the collection, consolidation and analysis of financial information from different business units.
• Assist in preparing budget-versus-actual analysis and supporting schedules.

Audit & Compliance

• Provide support during internal and external audits.
• Assist in preparing audit schedules, supporting documents and financial records.
• Assist in ensuring finance documentation is properly maintained and organised.

Corporate Finance Projects

• Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and corporate finance projects assigned by the team.
• Support research and data collection for business and financial analysis.
• Assist with process improvement and other projects undertaken by the Corporate Finance department.
• Gain exposure to finance operations across different entities and business units within Ormond Group.
• Support the Finance team in reviewing financial data and identifying significant variances or trends.
• Assist with the preparation of financial schedules, supporting documents and management reports.
• Assist with group reporting and consolidation-related activities where required.
