STARWISE is seeking a Finance Executive to support financial reporting and bookkeeping across group entities at our Kuala Lumpur office. You will handle full‑set or partial bookkeeping, month‑end close support, and assist in preparing management accounts and financial statements.

What We're Looking For
We are seeking candidates who:
Have at least 1–2 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably with an audit background (external audit or reporting accountant exposure is a strong plus)
Have hands‑on experience with account reconciliations (bank, GL-to-subledger, intercompany, or similar)
Possess a working knowledge of MFRS (Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards) — candidates with MPERS knowledge are also welcome to apply
Are detail‑oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple entities at once
Are proactive, willing to learn, and able to work well under deadlines
Comfortable liaising with external stakeholders (auditors, tax agents, bankers, advisors, and others) as needed
Your Role
As a Finance Executive, you will support the financial reporting and bookkeeping functions of the group, working under the guidance of senior finance team members, including:
Full‑set or partial bookkeeping and month‑end close support across assigned entities
Assisting in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements
Performing bank, GL, and intercompany reconciliations
Supporting audit fieldwork and liaising with external stakeholders (auditors, tax agents, bankers, advisors, and others) on information requests
Assisting with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany schedules
Working within QuickBooks and other accounting systems used by the group
Key Responsibilities
Perform day‑to‑day bookkeeping and data entry across assigned entities
Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and supporting schedules
Perform periodic reconciliations (bank, intercompany, GL-to-subledger) and follow up on reconciling items
Support month‑end and year‑end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met
Prepare audit schedules and assist in responding to queries from auditors, tax agents, bankers, and other external stakeholders
Ensure accounting treatment is aligned with MFRS requirements
Support ad‑hoc finance projects, including process improvement initiatives
Work collaboratively with senior team members to ensure accurate, timely reporting
Qualifications Required
Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Currently pursuing or holding a professional qualification (ACCA, MIA, CPA, ICAEW, or equivalent) — part‑qualified candidates are welcome to apply
Minimum 1–2 years of relevant working experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Good written and verbal communication skills in English (Bahasa Malaysia/Mandarin an advantage)
Advantageous (Good to Have)
Prior experience working with QuickBooks or other cloud accounting systems (Xero, NetSuite, SAGE)
Exposure to ERP systems or system migration projects
Comfortable leveraging IT tools and automation (e.g. Excel automation, PowerBI, Tableau) to improve reporting efficiency
Prior audit firm or professional services experience
Experience working across multiple entities or group structures
