Job summary

Mekar Capital Management Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an Executive, Finance & Compliance to support our finance, administrative and regulatory functions in a fast-paced private equity environment.

You will record transactions, prepare monthly and annual management accounts, manage licensing and regulatory filings, and assist with audits and compliance. The role offers a basic salary starting at RM2,500 per month, plus an annual performance bonus and standard benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Law or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English for senior management and regulators.
• Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
• Ability to work in a small team and collaborate with senior management.
• Attention to detail and ownership of deliverables.
• Experience with Xero/SQL Accounting/AutoCount/QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately and on time.
• Prepare management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for senior management.
• Maintain documentation and audit-ready records.
• Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and expense monitoring.
• Support year-end close and liaise with auditors, tax agents and company secretaries.
• Maintain licence and regulatory filings and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare periodic reports to the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).
