Job summary

PropertyGuru Group is seeking a Business Analyst, Finance Transformation for a full-time, on-site role in Malaysia. The position translates business needs into clear requirements and collaborates across Finance, Technology and external partners to move initiatives from idea to implementation.

You will define future-state requirements, coordinate testing, support go-live and ensure a controlled transition into BAU, working with the Senior BA on complex initiatives.

Qualifications

• Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements through BRDs, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria and supporting artefacts.
• Clarify requirements with Technology teams and vendors and maintain traceability from business need through delivered solution.

Responsibilities

• Engage Finance stakeholders to understand objectives, pain points, process gaps and desired outcomes; document requirements with BRDs and user stories.
• Assess current-state Finance processes and design future-state; identify dependencies, risks and data impacts.
• Support Finance projects from definition through build, testing, go-live and stabilisation with cross-functional teams.
• Develop UAT scenarios and test cases; coordinate user testing and track defects to closure.
• Analyse recurring Finance system issues and coordinate resolution with relevant teams; identify automation opportunities.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Jira and Confluence; facilitate cross-functional discussions and escalate where needed.

1. Role Purpose

The Business Analyst, Finance Transformation supports the delivery of Finance transformation initiatives by translating business needs into clear requirements and helping solutions move from idea to implementation. The role works across Finance, Technology and external partners to analyse current processes, define future-state requirements, coordinate testing, support implementation and ensure a controlled transition into BAU. The position will provide execution capacity across the Finance Transformation portfolio and will work closely with the Senior Business Analyst on more complex or cross-functional initiatives.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Business requirements & analysis Engage Finance stakeholders to understand business objectives, pain points, process gaps and desired outcomes. Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements through BRDs, user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria and supporting artefacts. Clarify requirements with Technology teams and vendors and maintain traceability from business need through delivered solution.
• Process improvement & solution definition Assess current-state Finance processes and identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, controls improvement or automation. Support future-state process design and challenge requests constructively to ensure the proposed solution addresses the underlying business problem. Identify dependencies, risks, data impacts and operational considerations early in the delivery lifecycle.
• Project & enhancement delivery Support Finance projects and enhancements from requirement definition through build, testing, go-live and stabilisation. Partner with the Finance Project Manager, Senior BA, Technology teams and vendors to resolve functional questions and delivery issues. Maintain clear actions, decisions, risks and status updates in the agreed project tools.
• Testing, UAT & implementation Develop UAT scenarios and test cases based on agreed requirements and business processes. Coordinate user testing, track defects and validate fixes through to closure. Support go-live readiness, implementation communications, process documentation and post-go-live stabilisation.
• BAU analysis & continuous improvement Analyse recurring Finance system and process issues, support root-cause identification and coordinate resolution with relevant teams. Identify recurring BAU themes that should be converted into structured enhancement or automation opportunities. Support a clear handover to BAU/support teams once changes are stable and documented.
• Governance & stakeholder management Maintain accurate and auditable documentation in tools such as Jira and Confluence. Facilitate discussions across Finance, Technology and external partners and communicate requirements in a concise, structured manner. Provide timely escalation where scope, requirements, risks or dependencies may affect delivery outcomes.
