Job summary

Benchmark Electronics is seeking a motivated Finance Intern to join our Finance team in Penang. You will gain hands-on experience across automation, data analytics, and digital transformation while supporting daily finance operations in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

You will work with Power Platform, Excel, Power BI, and SQL to automate processes, build dashboards, perform data cleansing, and contribute to system integration projects between Finance and other applications.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Data Analytics/Finance Technology or related field.
• Internship duration of 3 to 6 months.
• Strong interest in automation, system integration, AI, data analytics and digital transformation.
• Knowledge of Excel, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, VBA, SQL, Python or other automation tools is a plus.
• Basic understanding of databases, system workflows, APIs or business applications preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive and eager to learn new technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation solutions for Finance processes using Microsoft Power Platform, Excel VBA, Power Query, Power Automate, or other tools.
• Assist in system integration projects between Finance and other business applications to improve data flow.
• Identify manual processes and recommend automation opportunities with Finance and IT teams.
• Create dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI and Excel.
• Support data extraction, cleansing, validation, and analysis to aid decision-making.
• Explore AI tools to enhance Finance operations, reporting and productivity.
• Document business processes, workflows and automation solutions for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in digital transformation and special projects as assigned.
• Assist in user testing, system enhancements and troubleshooting.

Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to join our Finance team. This internship provides valuable hands‑on experience in various areas of finance and accounting, allowing you to gain practical exposure in a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will work closely with experienced finance professionals and support daily finance operations while developing your technical and analytical skills.

What You’ll Do

Assist in developing and improving automation solutions for Finance processes using Microsoft Power Platform, Excel VBA, Power Query, Power Automate, or other digital tools.

Support system integration projects between Finance and other business applications to improve data flow and operational efficiency.

Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to identify manual processes and recommend automation opportunities.

Assist in creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI and Excel.

Support data extraction, cleansing, validation, and analysis to facilitate business decision‑making.

Explore and evaluate AI tools and technologies that can enhance Finance operations, reporting, and productivity.

Document business processes, system workflows, and automation solutions for knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Participate in digital transformation, process improvement, and special projects as assigned.

Provide support for user testing, system enhancements, and troubleshooting activities.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance and Digital Transformation teams.

What You’ll Need

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Accounting Information Systems, Finance Technology, or a related field.

Internship duration of at least 3 to 6 months.

Strong interest in automation, system integration, AI, data analytics, and digital transformation.

Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, VBA, SQL, Python, or other automation tools would be an added advantage.

Basic understanding of databases, system workflows, APIs, or business applications is preferred.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
