Jabil Circuit Sdn Bhd in Penang seeks a Sr Commercial Finance Accountant (Data Science & Analytics) to drive data-driven decision making by building Power BI dashboards, automating finance processes, and delivering actionable insights into cost, profitability, and cash flow.
You will collaborate with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and business units to implement finance transformation initiatives, develop data models, and provide scalable reporting frameworks.
The role is responsible for the identification and analysis of key financial and operational metrics to evaluate the drivers of economic value and business performance. The position is also responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of corrective action strategies to improve profitability, enhance operational performance, and contribute to the achievement of financial targets for growth and profitability. This role requires close collaboration with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Business Unit teams to drive data-driven decision-making, process improvements, and finance transformation initiatives through the effective use of analytics, reporting, and automation tools.
Key responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, automated reports, and business intelligence solutions to improve business visibility and support strategic decision-making.
Develop and implement automation solutions using Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate, VBA, and other digital tools to streamline finance processes and enhance operational efficiency.
Lead and support finance transformation projects involving process automation, workflow optimization, data integration, AI related and digitalization initiatives.
Extract, validate, transform, and analyze large datasets from ERP systems, databases, and business applications to generate meaningful business insights.
Collaborate with Finance, IT, Digital Transformation, and Business teams to improve reporting capabilities, data governance, and system functionality.
Translate business and finance requirements into technical solutions and scalable reporting frameworks.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, strengthen data quality, and reduce manual intervention through automation and digital solutions.
Develop data models, KPIs, and analytical tools to monitor business performance, profitability, cash flow, and operational metrics.
Support Commercial/Costing team for product costing, profitability analysis, material margin reporting, and inventory performance reviews.
Monitor and analyze cost variances, including purchase price variances, material costs, inventory movements, and manufacturing cost drivers.
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting, Manufacturing Finance, Financial Analysis, FP&A, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Finance Systems, Finance Transformation, or related functions.
Strong knowledge of Power BI, Power Query, and data visualization techniques for financial and operational reporting.
Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Microsoft Fabric, Excel Macros, and VBA for workflow improvement and automation.
Strong understanding of financial accounting, cost accounting, managerial accounting, and manufacturing finance principles.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent enterprise systems.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, Power Pivot, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Index Match, and complex financial modeling.
Ability to extract, transform, analyze, and interpret large datasets to identify trends, abnormalities, and business opportunities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex financial and analytical concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
