We are seeking a Finance & Account Senior Executive to join our finance team at Home Peanut Garden Food Industries Sdn Bhd. This role covers the full spectrum of accounting, credit control, and compliance functions, with meaningful exposure to tax, customs, corporate secretarial, and government incentive matters. You will report to the Finance Manager, and work closely with our appointed company secretary, tax agent, and auditors, who provide guidance and support on the more technical and regulatory aspects of the role. This is a well-rounded, senior-level opportunity for someone looking to deepen their finance expertise beyond standard accounting.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare the full set of accounts and management reports in a timely manner to meet regulatory submission requirements
- Assist in preparing and analysing financial statements and reports for management review
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger, and subsidiary ledgers on a monthly basis
- Assist in preparing budget forecasts, costing, and variance analysis
- Manage accounts receivable and payable functions, including invoicing, payment vouchers, and inter-bank payments
- Prepare monthly Debtor and Creditor ageing reports and follow up on outstanding items with the Finance Manager
- Follow up on overdue customer payments; where payment is not received after a minimum of 3 follow-up attempts, elevate the case to Management for further action
- Monitor and administer petty cash, ensuring accurate and timely entries in the SQL accounting system
- Monitor monthly PCB and assist with CP204 tax instalment tracking, working with our tax agent to help ensure accurate submissions
- Assist in preparing schedules for tax and statutory audits, and support the Finance Manager during LHDN and Customs audit engagements
- Support SST-related processes and liaise with Customs Malaysia on routine matters (e.g. HS code updates), with guidance from the Finance Manager and tax agent
- Monitor the annual national budget (Budget announcements by the Ministry of Finance) and, together with our tax agent, propose relevant tax-saving opportunities for the company, such as applicable incentives, double deductions, or allowances
- Support the Finance Manager in preparing and tracking applications for relevant government incentives and grants (e.g. MIDA, MATRADE, MITI programmes)
- Compile and organise documentation required for grant applications and renewals
- Submit required statistical data to DOSM (Department of Statistics Malaysia) within stipulated deadlines
- Liaise with external auditors, bankers, tax agents, and our appointed company secretary to support audit, financial reporting, and statutory documentation processes
- Monitor the company's Bank Guarantee and Performance Bond with TNB, ensuring timely renewal and proper documentation
- Support export-related documentation for banking and shipment purposes, working with the Sales team
- Maintain proper filing of company assets, warranties, and key financial documents
- Support continuous improvement of internal finance documentation and workflows
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience in financial accounting, credit control, or a similar finance role, ideally within a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in accounting software SQL and Microsoft Excel
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise professionally with internal teams, auditors, bankers, and authorities
- Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within a broad finance role
- Professional attitude and commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Exposure to tax compliance (PCB, CP204), SST/customs matters, or government grant applications is an advantage — guidance from our tax agent and company secretary will be provided
- Own transport required, as the role occasionally involves visits to banks, LHDN, Customs, and other government agencies
