Job summary

Nielsen is seeking a Field Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support measurement equipment at panel households. The role involves regular travel within the territory and direct interaction with Nielsen panel members.

You will remotely configure equipment, ensure data collection, and train panel members on operation and security procedures, safeguarding data integrity and performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM/STPM/diploma or certificate in Engineering, Electronics, IT or related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant field experience.
• Must communicate in basic Malay and English.
• Valid driver's license and reliable personal transport for field visits.
• Willingness to travel within and outside the assigned region (All regions).
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic principles, TV/AV systems, set-top boxes, broadband and home networks.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, Google Sheets, mobile apps and Nielsen service software.
• Ability to install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, cabling, power, and data-transmission issues.

Responsibilities

• Installs and maintains metering platforms remotely with panelists from a home office environment.
• Investigates and resolves Nielsen proprietary system-generated household performance issues.
• Remotely diagnoses and troubleshoots data/equipment, taking corrective action to collect and retrieve data.
• Communicates effectively with panelists via phone, email, text, video, and chat.
• Educates and coaches panel members on operation and security procedures and responsibilities to protect the Nielsen sample.
• Uses persuasion skills to maintain cooperation of Panel members.
• Demonstrates ability to shift focus quickly between assignments and proactivity in downtime.

Job Description

The Field Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting Nielsen measurement equipment at assigned panel households. The role ensures that equipment is correctly configured, operational and able to collect and transmit accurate audience data.

The position involves regular travel within the assigned territory and direct interaction with Nielsen panel members.

• Remotely diagnoses and troubleshoots data/equipment, taking necessary corrective action to collect and retrieve accurate audience data.
