Job summary

Ban Joo Hong Plantation Sdn. Bhd is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee daily field activities across the oil palm estate. You will supervise harvesters and laborers, monitor performance, and ensure targets are met while maintaining accurate records.

The role emphasizes strict PPE, health and safety adherence, and MSPO standards, with responsibilities for yield monitoring, maintenance, and issue reporting in a remote plantation setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Agriculture, Plantation Management, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in oil palm plantation operations.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise a diverse workforce.
• Physical fitness and willingness to work in a remote plantation environment.
• Proficiency in local language and basic record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily field activities including harvesting, weeding, fertilization, pest/disease control and general plantation maintenance.
• Manage and monitor the performance of field workers, ensuring daily work targets are met.
• Conduct regular field inspections to ensure ripe FFB are harvested correctly and no fruit is left behind.
• Maintain accurate daily records of attendance, output (tonnage) and material usage to the estate office.
• Ensure workers adhere to PPE, EHS guidelines and MSPO standards.
• Identify and report issues such as pest outbreaks, drainage problems, or equipment failures to the Manager immediately.

Manage and monitor the performance of field workers (harvesters, sprayers, and general laborers), ensuring daily work targets are met.

Yield Monitoring

Conduct regular field inspections to ensure ripe fresh fruit bunches (FFB) are harvested correctly and that no loose fruit is left behind.

Record Keeping

Maintain accurate daily records of attendance, output (tonnage), and material usage (fertilizer/chemicals) to the estate office.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all workers strictly adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines and MSPO standards.

Issue Identification

Identify and report issues such as pest outbreaks, drainage problems, or equipment failures to the Manager immediately.
