Job summary

Vertiv Malaysia is seeking a field service engineer trained on Vertiv UPS systems. You will perform startups, maintenance and emergency repairs for UPS, batteries, power distribution and site monitoring equipment.

You will establish and maintain excellent rapport with customers, sales staff, distributors and the service direction team, while keeping dialogue open with leadership. Travel about 25% for daily site visits across the region.

Qualifications

• Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in a technical service or test environment for electrical/electronic equipment; UPS preferred.
• Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook); field service experience is preferred.
• Self-starter with time management skills; valid driving license.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and run assigned projects/PM to ensure high-quality service on time and within budget.
• Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting issues.
• Assist in ensuring that the planned maintenance completion rate is maintained at a min 90%.
• Daily travel to and from customer sites; after-hours and weekend shifts may be required.

Job description

• An exciting opportunity to become fully trained and qualified on Vertiv UPS Systems. You will be primarily responsible for startups, maintenance, and emergency repairs for UPS, battery, power distribution, and site monitoring equipment. Your secondary responsibility will be to establish, promote and maintain excellent rapport with all customers, salesmen, distributors, and others within the area, while maintaining active and open dialogue with the service direction team.

Responsibilities and Measurement Criteria with Time investment Needed on Each:

• Coordinate and run assigned projects/PM, ensuring they run smoothly and ensure the highest quality service is delivered on time and within budget.
• Maintain the accuracy of the customer listing by reporting any issues.

Qualifications:

Required/ Minimum Qualifications:

• Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience of working in a technical service or test environment of Electrical/Electronic equipment essential UPS preferred or associated industries i.e. Power Electronics.

Additional / Preferred Qualifications:

• Computer Literate (All office associated programs such as, word, excel, outlook).
• Previous field service experience essential.
• Self-starter, ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively with an ability to work under pressure.
• Clean, Valid driving license.
• There will be after hours (post 17:00) and weekend shift requirements, sometimes at short notice.
• Daily travel to and from customer sites.
