Field Service Engineer – AEM AMPS High Parallel Test Cell
Position Summary
Responsible for the installation, setup, commissioning, qualification, maintenance, and technical support of AEM AMPS High Parallel Test Cell systems.
Primarily stationed at AEM customer locations, including Intel, TF-AMD, and other semiconductor manufacturing sites.
Ensure equipment achieves the required operational readiness, performance, uptime, and production requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform equipment installation, mechanical assembly, facility hook-up, system configuration, and commissioning.
Support setup and integration of AMPS modules, test cells, device handlers, thermal-control systems, instrumentation, and related peripherals.
Execute system power-up, calibration, functional checks, dry runs, and equipment qualification.
Support integration between the equipment, test systems, factory network, MES, and automation interfaces.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to established procedures.
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, thermal, automation, software, and communication-related issues.
Diagnose equipment alarms, test failures, handling errors, and system-performance abnormalities.
Replace, repair, configure, and verify system modules and components.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and customer technical-support requests.
Work closely with AEM engineering teams to **escalate** and resolve complex technical issues.
Monitor equipment performance, uptime, repeat failures, and maintenance effectiveness.
Prepare service reports, maintenance records, issue-tracking logs, and technical documentation.
Support equipment modifications, upgrades, retrofits, and continuous-improvement activities.
Provide technical guidance and basic equipment training to customer personnel.
Comply with all AEM, customer, EHS, cleanroom, security, and confidentiality requirements.
Support shift operations, standby coverage, weekend work, and emergency call-outs when required.
Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic, Mechanical, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience supporting semiconductor final-test equipment.
Practical experience with semiconductor testers, handlers, system-level test equipment, burn-in systems, or related automated test equipment.
Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and technical manuals.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills covering electrical, mechanical, automation, and software-related issues.
Familiar with equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, preventive maintenance, and breakdown recovery.
Able to use diagnostic tools such as multimeters and other standard engineering instruments.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Able to prepare clear technical and service reports.
Willing to work at customer sites, on rotating shifts, and during weekends or public holidays when operationally required.
Willing to travel or be temporarily assigned to other customer locations.
Preferred Experience
Experience supporting high-parallel test cells, SLT systems, burn-in equipment, automated handlers, or high-power semiconductor test systems.
Knowledge of thermal-control systems, liquid cooling, power distribution, sensors, PLCs, industrial communication, and factory automation.
Experience working in Intel, AMD, OSAT, or other high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with equipment uptime, MTTR, MTBF, preventive-maintenance compliance, and structured problem-solving methods.
Knowledge of 5-Why, 8D, FMEA, and root-cause analysis would be an added advantage.
Strong technical and analytical capability.
