Job summary

SGB MY, part of the SGB-SMIT Group, is seeking a Transformer Service Engineer for on-site work in Seremban, Malaysia. You will perform field service on power and distribution transformers, including installation support, commissioning, routine and corrective maintenance, and at customer sites.

You will diagnose technical issues, carry out troubleshooting, prepare service reports, and coordinate with internal teams and customers while travelling regularly to sites.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting skills for transformer-related electrical and mechanical issues.
• Hands-on field service experience, including on-site inspections and commissioning.
• Experience with maintenance and repair of transformers or similar high-voltage equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and test reports.
• Effective communication with customers and internal teams.
• Willingness to travel regularly for on-site service.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service activities for power and distribution transformers, including installation support and commissioning.
• Conduct routine and corrective maintenance and repair work at customer sites.
• Prepare service reports and coordinate with operations, quality, and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and contribute to process improvements.
• Travel regularly to customer facilities as required.
