Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Shah Alam, Malaysia, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform installation, inspection, diagnose, maintenance and rectification on compressed air systems at commercial and industrial sites.

You will conduct on-site and classroom training, recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability, and prepare field service quality reports while ensuring compliance with HSE policies and local regulations. The role requires teamwork and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Diploma required in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in service, installation and site commissioning.
• Experience with industrial equipment such as compressors, rotating equipment, pumps, HVAC or other electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, inspection, diagnose, maintenance and rectification on compressed air systems.
• Conduct site and classroom training to customers on compressed air systems.
• Recommend actions to improve efficiency and reliability of customers’ compressed air systems.
• General service reports and field service quality reports; feedback product defects to production when needed.
• Ensure all service activities comply with HSE policies and local regulations.
• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery and proactive technical recommendations.

• Perform installation, inspection, diagnose, maintenance and rectification on compressed air system at various commercial and industrial establishments.
• Conduct site and classroom training to customers on compressed air system.
• Recommend necessary actions to improve the efficiency and reliability of customer’s compressed air system.
• General service report writing for internal and external customers.
• Document and prepare field service quality reports. If there are quality problems, it is necessary to feedback specific product defects to the production department and assist customers to take corrective measures.

Ensure all service activities are performed in compliance with company HSE policies, customer safety requirements, and local regulations.

Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery and proactive technical recommendations.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in service, installation, site commissioning

Experience in industrial equipment, compressors, rotating equipment, pumps, blowers, generators, HVAC, or other electromechanical systems.

• Dynamic and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
• Team player as well as the ability to work independently
