Job summary

onsemi’s Failure Analysis Lab in Malaysia seeks an Equipment Technician to maintain and troubleshoot FA lab gear, ensuring reliability and safety. You will support calibration, setup, and continuous improvement in a shift-based environment, collaborating with engineers and analysts to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Diploma or associate degree in Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Basic understanding of machine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting/repair.
• Willingness to work with delicate samples and hazardous materials under controlled procedures.
• Interest in laboratory work and eagerness to learn new techniques and technologies.
• Able to work in a shift-based schedule, including weekends/holidays when required.
• Good communication skills and data-analysis awareness are valued.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on equipment.
• Assist in equipment installation and setup under engineer's supervision.
• Maintain tools, spare parts inventory and ensure proper documentation of work performed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report hazards immediately.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on equipment performance.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring ESD control measures in work areas.
• Perform routine checks and maintenance of ESD protection systems (e.g., wrist straps, mats, grounding).
• Support instrument calibration activities, including preparation, handling, and documentation.
• Coordinate with engineers and external service providers for calibration tasks when required.
• Monitor and record daily and weekly recordable data to track equipment performance and reliability.
