About the Role
As a Failure Analysis Engineer, you will investigate production and field failures involving lithium-battery modules, high-voltage boxes, battery PACKs, and energy storage systems. You will identify root causes, prepare failure analysis reports, drive corrective actions, and improve repair standards while providing technical guidance to repair technicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform failure analysis and troubleshooting for lithium-battery modules, high-voltage boxes, battery PACKs, and energy storage systems with functional defects identified during production.
- Investigate customer complaints, returned products, and field failures; identify root causes, carry out repairs, and verify product performance.
- Prepare clear and professional Failure Analysis reports, propose corrective and preventive actions, and work closely with Production, Quality, R&D, and other relevant teams to ensure effective closure.
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and electronic loads to locate electrical and functional failures at component, PCBA, module, or system level.
- Develop and continuously improve product repair manuals, troubleshooting guides, SOPs, and technical standards.
- Provide technical training, coaching, and hands-on guidance to repair technicians to strengthen the team’s troubleshooting and repair capabilities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce repeated failures, improve repair efficiency, and enhance product quality and reliability.
- Maintain accurate repair, analysis, and traceability records through MES and other internal systems.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in PCBA failure analysis, battery PACK failure analysis, electronic troubleshooting, or product repair.
- Strong knowledge of electronics and the ability to read circuit diagrams, analyze complex electronic circuits, and identify root causes independently.
- Proficient in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, soldering tools, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Experience in preparing Failure Analysis reports, 8D reports, or corrective action reports is an advantage.
- Familiar with MES systems and proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in lithium-battery modules, high-voltage systems, BMS, or energy storage products will be highly preferred.
- Experience in leading, training, or managing a repair or technical team is an added advantage.
