Job summary

HAP FATT MARINE PRODUCTS SDN. BHD. in Lahad Datu, Sabah, is seeking a dedicated Factory Worker to join our production team.

This full-time role involves diverse assembly and processing tasks to support daily production schedules and ensure high-quality seafood products. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, basic reading/numeracy skills, and willingness to work in wet, chilled environments. Training will be provided; overtime and shift work may be required as production demands

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sort, grade and inspect fish and seafood according to size and quality.
• Handle IQF processing equipment and production lines per SOP.
• Pack, weigh, seal, label and prepare finished frozen products.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of processing areas and equipment.
• Follow food safety, HACCP, GMP and safety procedures at all times.

About the role
HAP FATT MARINE PRODUCTS SDN. BHD. is seeking a dedicated Factory Worker to join our manufacturing team in Lahad Datu, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our production operations. As a Factory Worker, you will be responsible for performing various assembly and process work tasks that are essential to maintaining our production schedules and ensuring the quality of our marine products. This role is vital to the success of our manufacturing operations and contributes directly to the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Sort, grade and inspect fish and seafood according to size, species, quality and production requirements.
• Check raw materials for freshness, defects and quality before processing.
• Carry out fish and seafood processing work such as washing, cleaning, and other preparation work according to production requirements.
• Operate and assist with IQF (Individual Quick Freezing) processing equipment and production lines according to standard operating procedures.
• Arrange seafood products properly for freezing and ensure products are handled correctly throughout the IQF process.
• Weigh, pack, seal, label and prepare finished frozen seafood products according to product specifications.
• Ensure correct packing quantity, weight, labelling and product appearance.
• Assist with loading, unloading and transferring raw materials and finished products between processing, packing, freezing and cold-room areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of processing areas, equipment, utensils, trays and workstations.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP and company safety procedures at all times.
• Wear the required PPE and maintain good personal hygiene when working in food-processing areas.
• Monitor product quality during processing and immediately report any damaged, contaminated or non-conforming products to the supervisor.
• Report machinery problems, equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
• Assist with general factory cleaning and sanitation before, during and after production.
• Work closely with supervisors and other production team members to achieve daily production targets.
• Carry out other factory, processing, packing or production duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a fish-processing, seafood-processing, food-manufacturing or factory environment is an advantage, but not compulsory.
• Training will be provided for suitable candidates.
• Able and willing to handle raw and frozen fish and seafood products.
• Able to work in wet, chilled, cold-room and low-temperature working environments when required.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long periods, perform repetitive tasks and lift or move products safely.
• Good attention to detail, especially when sorting, checking, weighing and packing products.
• Able to follow hygiene, food-safety and workplace-safety procedures strictly.
• Responsible, punctual and willing to work as part of a production team.
• Able to follow instructions from supervisors and complete assigned work according to production requirements.
• Basic reading and numeracy skills for understanding labels, weights, quantities and work instructions.
• Willing to work shifts, overtime, weekends or public holidays when required by the production schedule.
• Experience in IQF seafood processing, cold-room operations, packing or fish handling will be an added advantage.
