Job summary

GECO Asia Pte. Ltd is seeking a Maintenance Technician for a busy manufacturing facility in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery and plant, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and fluid power systems, and support continuous production. You should hold a relevant Diploma or Certificate, be able to read wiring diagrams and drawings, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Certificate/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field.
• Experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings.
• Good problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and factory facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify faults and failures.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Install, test, adjust, and commission new machines and equipment.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, parts, and equipment conditions.
• Coordinate with Production and Engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.

Job description

This is a Maintenance Technician position in a manufacturing/factory environment responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and factory facilities, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Key responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on machinery, equipment, and factory facilities

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

Conduct regular inspections to identify potential equipment faults and breakdowns

Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and minimize production downtime

Carry out installation, testing, adjustment, and commissioning of machines and equipment

Maintain and repair motors, pumps, conveyors, sensors, switches, and other industrial equipment

Maintain proper records of maintenance activities, repairs, spare parts, and equipment conditions

Assist in identifying the root cause of equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective actions

Coordinate with the Production and Engineering teams to ensure smooth factory operations

Ensure all maintenance work is carried out according to SOPs, safety requirements, and company standards

About you

Certificate/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field

Experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing/factory environment is an advantage

Good knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

Able to troubleshoot and repair machinery effectively

Able to read electrical wiring diagrams and mechanical drawings

Good problem-solving and communication skills

Willing to work shift, overtime, or on-call when required

Able to work independently and as part of a team
