Job summary

CEPCO is seeking a Workplace Safety & Health Officer responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety policies to ensure regulatory and company standards are met. The role focuses on preventing accidents and maintaining a safe working environment for all staff at our facility.

The ideal candidate has a diploma or degree in OSH or related fields, 2+ years in manufacturing safety, and SHO registration is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Environmental Health, or related discipline.
• Good knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machinery safety, and permit-to-work systems.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and support shift or weekend operations when required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of production areas, machinery, and work activities to identify unsafe acts/conditions and take immediate corrective action; report findings to the Factory Manager and SHO.
• Enforce compliance with safety procedures, SOPs, legal requirements, and proper use of PPE.
• Assist in implementation and review of HIRARC, SOP, and Safe Work Instructions (SWI); recommend improvements to reduce risks.
• Monitor and enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) and ensure all high-risk activities are carried out safely.
• Report and assist in investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses; support corrective actions.
• Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and support induction training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Support emergency preparedness including fire drills, training, and ensuring emergency equipment is available and in good condition.
• Maintain safety documentation and prepare monthly safety reports for SHO.
• Support audits and inspections (DOSH and ISO) and ensure compliance with requirements.
• Monitor housekeeping, environmental practices, and assist SHO in workplace safety and health monitoring.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, Environmental Health, or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in manufacturing or industrial safety environment.
• Registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO) certification is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, machinery safety, and permit-to-work systems.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and support shift or weekend operations when required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation.
