Job summary

YB Woodwork Industry (M) Sdn Bhd in Simpang Renggam, Johor, seeks a dedicated Safety & Health Executive to join our team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols to protect our workforce and ensure regulatory compliance across engineering and environmental operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years in safety and health, a DOSH Malaysia certification or equivalent, and a diploma/degree in OH&S.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in safety and health.
• DOSH Malaysia certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Diploma or degree in occupational health and safety preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety, health, and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with safety audits, risk assessments and documentation.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training programmes.
• Proactive in promoting a safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive occupational safety and health programmes and policies.
• Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections across all work sites and facilities.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and induction programmes to employees at all levels.
• Monitor compliance with relevant safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
• Maintain and update safety documentation, records, and reports for regulatory purposes.
• Collaborate with management and department heads to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Organise and promote safety awareness campaigns and initiatives throughout the organisation.
• Liaise with external regulatory bodies and health and safety authorities as required.
• Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings to keep staff informed of best practices.

As a Safety & Health Executive, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety protocols that protect our workforce and ensure compliance with environmental and occupational health regulations. What we're looking for

• Certification in Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH Malaysia certification or equivalent is highly desirable)
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a safety and health role, preferably within the engineering, manufacturing, or woodwork industry
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health legislation and environmental regulations
• Proven ability to conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all organisational levels
• Proficiency in safety management systems and documentation
• Ability to identify, investigate, and resolve workplace safety issues effectively
• Competence in developing and delivering safety training programmes
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• A proactive approach to promoting a safety culture within the workplace
• Diploma or degree qualification in occupational health and safety or a related field is preferred
