Job summary

Our Client is seeking a Factory Manager for its Rawang, Malaysia plant to lead heavy fabrication operations including steel cutting, welding, CNC machining and aluminium diecasting. The role requires hands-on leadership and strategic oversight to drive performance.

The ideal candidate will manage a diverse team, enforce strict quality and safety standards, and collaborate with Directors in an MNC environment to sustain rapid growth and excellence on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Dedicated, tough, authoritative leader able to handle difficult personalities.
• Ability to provide daily direction to staff and be a hands-on floor manager.
• Experience in heavy fabrication, specifically cutting and welding steel.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and assess weld quality.
• Experience with strategic planning and using tools like Gantt charts.
• Exposure to ISO-certified manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate up to 30 simultaneous project orders on the shop floor.
• Enforce ISO 9001/14001 standards across operations.
• Achieve margin savings by reducing waste and eliminating mistakes.
• Maintain world-class safety with a high hours-worked without lost-time injuries.
• Oversee annual renewals for critical equipment such as machinery, cranes or tanks.

As the exclusive hiring consultants supporting Our Client, an exciting multinational corporation with a global footprint, we are currently seeking a highly driven and hands-on Factory Manager to take command of their shop floor. This is a huge opportunity for a talented Engineering Leader or Assistant Manager in Factory Operations looking to completely run a sizable manufacturing business and step up to the ultimate level. The role will provide fantastic exposure to other Directors and VPs in an MNC environment. Team Size

Leading a diverse shop floor with over 100 staff members.

Industry Focus

Industrial Engineering. A mixture of both higher volume and lower custom designed systems for various customer segments. Well maintained plant, with good equipment and investments.

Core Responsibilities

The incoming leader will step into an intense, multi-faceted manufacturing environment handling heavy structural steel fabrication, welding, CNC machining, and aluminum diecasting.

• Assume immediate command of operations and expertly coordinate up to 30 simultaneous project orders.
• Enforce rigorous operational governance and strict ISO 9001/14001 standards to comply with the quality expectations this MNC has at a group level.
• Achieve important margin savings by actively reducing operational waste and eliminating shop-floor mistakes.
• Maintain world-class safety excellence, continuing the plant’s impressive record of 1 million hours with zero lost-time injuries.
• Oversee strict compliance renewals, including annual registrations for critical equipment such as important machinery, cranes or pressure tanks.

The Ideal Profile

Our MNC Client requires a dedicated, tough, authoritative leader who possesses the grit to manage difficult personalities and enforce strict accountability.

• Ideally you should be able to provide daily direction to key staff, possess excellent strategic planning skills whilst serving as a hands-on floor manager rather than an office-bound executive.
• Deep practical background in a heavy fabrication environment, specifically cutting and welding steel is highly preferable.
• For example: strong technical capability to visually recognize a good weld versus a bad one and accurately read fabrication drawings will be preferable.
• Proven strategic planning and thinking skills, utilizing tools like Gantt charts to track production and manage material planning.
• We would like you to ideally have some exposure to a highly structured, ISO-certified manufacturing environment to comply with quality standards and lead a production floor of the highest level.
