Job summary

ZTE Corporation in Johor Bahru is seeking a dedicated Data Centre Facilities Engineer to monitor and manage daily facility operations, ensuring system stability, reliability, capacity and availability.

The role requires a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with experience in data centre operations, RCA, risk management, preventive maintenance, PM standards, and project management. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in data centre facility operations and technical management.
• Knowledge of electrical, HVAC or ELV/communications disciplines.
• Experience with RCA, risk mgmt, preventive maintenance and PM standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage daily facility operations to ensure system stability and availability.
• Identify risks, bottlenecks and single points of failure; drive mitigation plans.
• Conduct RCA for major incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and optimize PM plans, SOP/MOP/EOP, and technical standards.
• Support facility projects, system upgrades and energy-efficiency initiatives.
• Perform technical reviews for changes ensuring safety and quality.
• Document cases, share knowledge, and train teams on best practices.
• Explore AI tools and new tech to improve operations.

• Monitor and manage daily facility operations to ensure system stability, reliability, capacity, and availability.
• Identify facility risks, capacity bottlenecks, and single points of failure; develop and drive risk mitigation and improvement plans.
• Conduct RCA for major incidents (P1/P2) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Develop and optimize PM plans, SOP/MOP/EOP/SCP, technical standards, and operational processes.
• Support facility projects, system upgrades, expansion, PUE/energy-efficiency optimization, and technical improvements.
• Conduct technical reviews for major changes and projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and technical quality.
• Manage and evaluate Colo/vendor technical performance and service quality.
• Document technical cases and best practices, and conduct knowledge sharing and technical training across teams.
• Explore and evaluate AI tools and emerging technologies to improve facility operations and efficiency.

Job Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in data centre facility operations, maintenance, engineering, or technical management.
• Strong knowledge of one or more facility disciplines: Electrical, HVAC, or ELV/Communications.
• Experience in RCA, risk management, preventive maintenance, technical standards, and project management.
• Good understanding of data centre availability, capacity, energy efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.
