Job summary

Columbia Asia Hospital - Petaling Jaya is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain hospital plant and perform routine electrical and mechanical repairs. You will support safety, quality assurance, and on-call coverage as part of the engineering team.

The role requires a Diploma/Certificate in electrical engineering, and experience in facility maintenance or construction, with English and Bahasa Malaysia literacy.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience in facility maintenance or construction is required.
• Written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance of hospital electrical systems and facilities.
• Carry out minor repairs including painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical works.
• Assist maintenance team with servicing and repair of equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and proper records.
• Be available for on-call duties as required.
• Attend training and meetings as needed.

Job description

Perform general, routine maintenance and servicing operations throughout the hospital plant and other as directed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• 1. Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance and safety.
• 2. Perform minor repairs on electrical equipment and machinery and to buildings and facilities including painting, plastering, carpentry, plumbing or electrical power.
• 3. Check and replace broken electrical switches and make other electrical repairs.
• 4. Make minor plumbing repairs.
• 5. Assist maintenance staff in the servicing and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment.
• 6. Perform maintenance, repair or replacement of broken parts.
• 7. Keep hospital plant orderly, clean and safe. Ensure proper care in the use of equipment and supplies.
• 8. Assist with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• 9. Maintain department records, report and file as required.
• 10. Perform on-call duties.
• 11. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings.
• 12. Attend meetings as required.
• 13. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Education and Requirements

Diploma/ Certificate in electrical engineering or other related discipline.

Sufficient previous experience in Facility maintenance or Construction.

Be able to write and read in English and Bahasa Malaysia

Special Demands

Able to communicate well.

Able to do call when required.
