About the role

Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Facility Technician to join our team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our facility operations. As a Facility Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring that all building systems, equipment, electricity, and infrastructure operate at optimal levels. Your work will directly contribute to creating a safe, comfortable, and productive environment for our employees and clients. This position requires a hands‑on approach and a commitment to excellence in technical maintenance and facility management.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on facility systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency situations, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
• Conduct preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of facility equipment
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing for compliance and tracking purposes
• Identify and report potential safety hazards and take corrective action to ensure a secure working environment
• Operate and monitor building management systems and controls to maintain appropriate temperature, humidity, and environmental conditions
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when specialised repairs or maintenance are required
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards
• Assist with facility upgrades and installations as required
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of maintenance storage areas and tool inventory

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification or certification in facility maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
• Proven experience as a Facility Technician, Building Maintenance Technician, or similar role within a facilities management or industrial setting
• Sound knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting facility equipment and building management systems
• Strong problem‑solving abilities with the capacity to diagnose complex technical issues accurately and efficiently
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, management, and external contractors
• A meticulous approach to health and safety compliance and a commitment to maintaining safe working practices
• Physical fitness and capability to perform manual tasks, work at heights, and carry heavy equipment
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple maintenance requests simultaneously
• Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with industry standards
• Previous experience in a similar facility management environment would be advantageous
