Job summary

MD Tool Technologies Sdn Bhd in Skudai, Johor is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician to join our factory team. The role covers preventive and corrective maintenance of manufacturing machinery and facility systems, ensuring uptime, safety and quality.

You will apply your Diploma/Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with 2–5 years of hands-on experience, to diagnose faults, service equipment, and document maintenance activities while complying with health and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing facility or machine maintenance.
• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical systems.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools and precision measurement.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Performing routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery, equipment, and facility systems.
• Diagnosing faults and troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement fixes.
• Carrying out corrective maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
• Conducting regular inspections to identify potential problems before they disrupt operations.

About the role

MD Tool Technologies Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and dedicated Facility Technician / Maintenance Technician to join our team in Skudai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our manufacturing facilities and equipment. As a Facility Technician, you will be responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance of machinery, tools, and facility systems, directly contributing to our operational efficiency, productivity, and safety standards. This position is essential to keeping our production environment running smoothly and meeting our quality and delivery commitments to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Performing routine preventive maintenance on manufacturing machinery, equipment, and facility systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity
• Conducting diagnostic assessments and troubleshooting of equipment faults and facility issues to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
• Executing corrective maintenance and repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems in a timely manner
• Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation of all servicing, repairs, and equipment performance data
• Conducting regular inspections of machinery and facility infrastructure to identify potential problems before they impact operations
• Responding promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns to minimise production downtime
• Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery
• Liaising with equipment suppliers and external contractors when specialist maintenance or repairs are required
• Adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices in the maintenance and operation of facility systems
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing facility efficiency and reducing maintenance costs

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing facility maintenance or machine maintenance roles
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and basic electrical systems
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance methodologies and best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Commitment to health and safety standards and a proactive approach to hazard identification and risk management
• Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance issues and work occasional overtime as required
