Job summary

Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Facility Section Manager to lead and optimise our Batu Kawan operations in Penang. This full-time role focuses on ensuring safe, efficient and compliant facility performance to support manufacturing continuity.

You will oversee maintenance, energy management and project delivery, while developing the Facilities team and coordinating with contractors and the Purchasing department. A strong safety mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of facilities management or maintenance supervision experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices.
• Proven track record in leading maintenance teams and coordinating contractors.
• Experience developing preventive maintenance programmes and uptime strategies.
• Understanding health and safety regulations, building codes and environmental compliance.
• Proficient in CMMS or maintenance management software and basic computer literacy.
• Excellent organisational, time management and stakeholder communication skills.
• Relevant certifications in facilities management, maintenance or safety are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee installation, maintenance, upgrading, and refurbishment of facility systems.
• Manage service providers and contractors for security, maintenance, and outsourced services.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental requirements.
• Identify and implement energy efficiency and utility management initiatives to reduce costs.
• Plan facility construction, expansion, renovation, and improvement projects with timely completion.
• Collaborate with Purchasing on vendor selection, specs, quotations, and procurement requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance of facility equipment, systems, and supplies to meet standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify repair, upgrade or renovation needs.
• Monitor energy and water consumption; implement measures to optimise usage.
• Lead, supervise, and develop Facilities team while coordinating external contractors.
• Strategise space utilisation aligned with business needs and growth plans.
• Support other facility-related projects and ensure ISO and SOP compliance.

About the role

Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled and experienced Facility Section Manager to join our team in Batu Kawan, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimising our facility operations. As Facility Section Manager, you will oversee the maintenance and operational efficiency of our facilities, ensuring a safe, productive and well-maintained working environment for all employees. This role is strategically important to our organisation as it directly impacts operational continuity, workplace safety and overall business productivity.

Key responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee the installation, maintenance, upgrading, and refurbishment of facility systems, including telecommunications, water, electricity, and other utilities.

Manage and evaluate service providers and contractors for facility-related services, including security, maintenance, and other outsourced services.

Ensure all facilities comply with applicable government regulations, environmental requirements, health and safety standards, and security requirements.

Identify and implement initiatives to improve energy efficiency, utility management, and overall facility cost-effectiveness.

Plan and oversee facility construction, expansion, renovation, refurbishment, and improvement projects, ensuring timely completion and compliance with project requirements.

Work closely with the Purchasing Department on vendor selection, technical specifications, quotations, and procurement requirements, particularly for new facility setup and improvement projects.

Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of facility equipment, systems, and supplies to meet operational, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular inspections of buildings, structures, and facility systems to identify repair, maintenance, upgrading, or renovation requirements.

Monitor and analyse electricity, water, and other utility consumption, and implement measures to optimise usage and reduce operating costs.

Lead, supervise, and develop the Facilities team, while managing external contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to requirements.

Plan and optimise facility space utilisation in alignment with the company's business needs, expansion plans, and strategic direction.

Support and participate in other facility-related projects, assignments, and responsibilities as assigned by management from time to time.

Ensure compliance with ISO requirements, company policies, SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and other applicable standards and guidelines.

What we're looking for

Minimum 8 years of experience in facilities management or maintenance supervision within a manufacturing or industrial environment

Strong knowledge of building systems, mechanical equipment and maintenance best practices

Proven track record of successfully managing maintenance teams and coordinating contractors

Experience in developing and implementing preventative maintenance programmes

Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, building codes and environmental compliance

Proficiency in maintenance management software and basic computer literacy

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage team interactions and stakeholder relationships

Problem-solving abilities and practical troubleshooting experience

Relevant certifications in facilities management, maintenance or safety are advantageous

Ability to independently manage and resolve complex projects, issues, and challenges effectively.
