Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a seasoned facilities and biomedical engineering professional to oversee hospital facility systems, maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance.

You will manage CAPA processes, vendor contracts and complex renovation projects while leading a maintenance and biomedical engineering team to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of experience in facilities management or hospital/healthcare settings.
• Experience with hospital facilities, building services, and biomedical equipment is advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, lifts, medical gas and water systems.
• Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, infection control and accreditation requirements.
• Experience managing renovations, upgrades and expansions with contractor oversight.
• Experience managing vendors, service contracts, warranties and external providers.
• Strong maintenance records, calibration, asset management and equipment documentation knowledge.
• Proficiency in CAPA/root cause analysis and equipment failure investigation.
• Strong negotiation and cost-management skills for supplier quotations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance and safety of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, lifts and biomedical equipment.
• Monitor compliance with safety, environmental, infection control and hospital accreditation requirements.
• Maintain maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, service reports and asset registers for hospital facilities.
• Investigate equipment failures and implement CAPA (corrective and preventive actions).
• Oversee installation, commissioning and disposal of hospital facilities and equipment where applicable.
• Manage renovations, upgrades and expansion projects with planning, execution and contractor coordination.
• Manage service contracts, vendor performance, warranties and external providers.
• Review supplier quotations to ensure pricing is fair and competitive.
• Lead maintenance and biomedical engineering teams; ensure clear communication and decision making.

Maintain and monitor maintenance records, troubleshooting and repair records, calibration records, service reports and asset registers for hospital facilities and equipment.

Oversee the installation, commissioning and disposal of hospital facilities and equipment where applicable.

Manage facility renovation, upgrading and expansion projects, including project planning, execution and contractor coordination.

Manage service contracts, monitor vendor performance, handle warranty claims and coordinate with external service providers.

Review supplier quotations and ensure that suppliers' pricing is fair and competitive.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in facilities management, engineering maintenance or hospital/healthcare facilities.

Experience managing hospital facilities, building services and/or biomedical equipment will be highly advantageous.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, generators, lifts, medical gas and water supply systems.

Experience in facility maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance.

Knowledge of statutory requirements, safety standards, environmental regulations, infection control and healthcare accreditation requirements.

Experience managing facility renovation, upgrading and expansion projects, including contractor management.

Experience managing vendors, service contracts, warranties and external service providers.

Strong understanding of maintenance records, calibration, asset management and equipment documentation.

Good knowledge of CAPA / root cause analysis and equipment failure investigation.

Strong negotiation and commercial skills, particularly in supplier quotation evaluation and cost management.

Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to lead Maintenance and Bio-Medical Engineering teams.

Good communication, coordination, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
