Micro-Mechanics Technology Sdn Bhd (182707-X) is seeking a Facilities Engineer to ensure safe, compliant and highly stable facility systems that maximize uptime for maximum machine time. The role covers non-production utility and building systems and involves continuous improvement with internal teams and vendors.
Accountability includes reliability, preventive maintenance, safety compliance and cost-effective vendor management.
The broad goal of this role is Facility Excellence: safe, compliant, efficient and highly stable facility systems that maximize site uptime allowing for maximum machine time. The Facility Engineer owns the reliability of non-machine assets and infrastructure. Production machines and processing equipment are outside the primary scope, except where a facility utility or building system affects their operation.
Success is measured by sustained facility-related uptime, fewer repeat disruptions and stable systems that require less emergency attention and manual follow-up, rather than by the volume of repairs completed. The role independently drives continuous improvement and partners with the 8s Chief, site leaders, employees and vendors to prevent downtime, injury, compliance risk, waste and unnecessary cost while supporting Five-Star Factory goals.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities include the following:
1. General Scope: Oversee electrical, water, lighting, HVAC, compressed air, waste, fire protection, security and other non-production facility systems.
2. Facility Reliability: Maintain systems safely and reliably. Track uptime, failures, alarms, interruptions and risk. Restore service as needed while prioritizing root-cause fixes, stronger standards and reduced reactive work. Coordinate major repairs and inspections with vendors and remain hands‑on when practical.
3. Preventive Maintenance & CMMS: Manage preventive maintenance and work control through the CMMS. Maintain accurate asset records, maps, job plans, schedules, inspections, service history, open work and critical spare information. Use system data to improve maintenance frequency, reliability and risk prioritization.
4. Safety, Compliance & 8S: Represent facilities on the 8S committee, supporting safety inspections, training and reporting. Ensure compliance with workplace safety, environmental, fire, chemical, hazmat, permit and related requirements.
5. Vendor Management: Lead facility service-provider relationships, including scopes, selection, quotes, purchase requisitions, contracts, renewals, site visits, shutdowns, service verification and payment support. Evaluate vendors on safety, quality, responsiveness, reliability and long‑term value.
6. ESG Resource Reduction: Track electricity, water, compressed air, waste and chemical use. Identify leaks, losses, risks and costs. Implement and sustain practical improvements.
