Job summary

SUPERSIC (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking a Facilities Engineer to oversee daily operations and preventive maintenance for plant utilities.

You will lead complex troubleshooting, conduct root cause analysis, and monitor performance telemetry for electricity, water, CDA, HVAC, and other critical systems. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 2–4 years of hands-on facilities maintenance experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical) or related field.
• 2–4 years of hands-on facilities maintenance in high-volume manufacturing, semiconductor wafer fab, or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of industrial utility networks (chilled water loops, HVAC/Cleanroom, air compressors, gas delivery, HV/LV electrical distribution).
• Excellent verbal and written English and Mandarin to report technical summaries to management and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations and preventive maintenance programs for plant utilities.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis to minimize downtime.
• Monitor and track performance telemetry of plant utilities (electricity, water, CDA, HVAC).
• Propose and execute energy-saving and Kaizen initiatives to reduce costs.
• Review and update SOPs, risk assessments, maintenance logs, and asset documentation.
• Supervise vendors during installations and shutdowns, enforcing EHS and LOTO protocols.
• Conduct routine plant walk-throughs to flag safety hazards.
• Collaborate with Production and EHS to ensure stable utility supply for production timelines.
• Perform other duties assigned by Facility Supervisor.

Job description

Oversee the daily operations, standard inspections, and robust Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs for all plant utility systems to ensure maximum uptime.

Lead complex troubleshooting efforts and conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on equipment failures to minimize critical production downtime.

Drive efficiency by monitoring, parsing, and tracking the performance telemetry of electricity, industrial water, Compressed Dry Air (CDA), HVAC/Cleanroom and other primary facility utilities.

Formulate, propose and execute energy-saving initiatives and continuous improvement (Kaizen) projects to optimize plant operational costs.

Author, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments (HIRARC), maintenance logs and asset documentation to meet local audit standards.

Supervise external vendors and contractors during major equipment installations, facility expansion and shutdowns, strictly enforcing site EHS rules and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols.

Manage routine plant walk-throughs to proactively flag potential structural, electrical, or chemical safety hazards.

Partner closely with Production and EHS departments to secure an uninterrupted, stable utility supply aligned with strict manufacturing timelines.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Facility Supervisor.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related Engineering disciplines.

Minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands‑on facilities maintenance experience within a high‑volume manufacturing plant, semiconductor wafer fab, or heavy industrial environment. (Fresh graduates need not apply for this role)

Solid technical competency in industrial utility networks—specifically chilled water loops, industrial HVAC/Cleanroom systems, air compressors (CDA), industrial gas delivery, or HV/LV electrical distribution.

Strong analytical mindset with emotional resilience to stay level‑headed during unexpected system interruptions or strict factory delivery timelines.

Excellent verbal and written command of English and Mandarin to seamlessly report technical summaries to regional management and collaborate with on‑site vendors/contractors.
