Job summary

Intel Corporation in Malaysia (Penang) seeks a Facilities Mechanical Engineer to ensure availability, reliability, and maintenance of mechanical systems across manufacturing, clean rooms, and R&D activities. You will design, maintain, and troubleshoot systems such as HVAC, exhaust, process vacuum, and fire life safety while driving safety, reliability, and environmental objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years’ hands-on experience in facilities mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in mechanical system design, operations, engineering and management.
• Knowledge of fire life safety systems.
• Experience in preventive / corrective maintenance practices.
• Experience in systems design, troubleshooting and stakeholder management.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own, sustain, and improve system reliability, capability, capacity, operational troubleshooting, and optimization of mechanical systems.
• Develop engineering scopes of work for mechanical projects and conduct design reviews.
• Partner with internal customers and external service providers to ensure systems are maintained and operated within limits.
• Support environmental compliance for facilities mechanical systems, including safety and reliability standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and testing on new or modified designs to improve performance.
