Private Advertiser in Penang, Malaysia seeks a Facilities & Maintenance Engineer for a US MNC, focusing on production equipment maintenance and facilities management to ensure reliability and safety.
You will lead the facilities & maintenance team, plan preventive maintenance for production machinery, investigate breakdowns, manage parts and suppliers, and drive improvements while complying with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and safety standards.

Combined Scope: Handles both Building Facilities (managing service vendors/SLA contracts) and Equipment/Machine Maintenance (hands-on mechanical maintenance).
We are looking for candidates with strong hands-on experience in production equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, with a focus on production equipment rather than facilities and critical utilities management.
Lead the Facilities & Maintenance team, including technicians and maintenance activities.
Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment and factory facilities to ensure reliability, safety, and minimal downtime.
Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance programs for production machinery and facility systems.
Investigate recurring equipment breakdowns and implement root cause and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
Manage spare parts, maintenance materials, and supplier coordination to support timely repairs.
Supervise and provide technical guidance to maintenance technicians.
Lead equipment, facility, and process improvement projects to improve performance and reduce costs.
Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and local safety/environmental regulations.
Support FMEA, SPC, APQP and PPAP activities where required.
Maintain plant layout and engineering documentation, including AutoCAD updates.
Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
6+ years of experience in Maintenance / Process Engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong hands-on experience in production equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, FMEA, and SPC.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Able to work independently and support after-hours maintenance when required.
AutoCAD experience is an advantage.
Comfortable using AI tools to improve productivity and engineering decision-making.
