Job summary

JLL is seeking a Facilities/Operations specialist to oversee daily operations and maintenance of building systems at the Shah Alam site. You will supervise the operating team, ensure tenant comfort, and report to the Site Manager on conditions affecting services.

You will develop maintenance plans and coordinate with data centre personnel for preventive maintenance. The role requires experience in engineering and maintenance supervision with HVAC/electrical exposure, plus strong communication

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 1–2 years in trades or equivalent.
• HVAC and electrical engineering training helpful.
• Experience in data centre management is advantageous.
• Vendor management, procurement experience.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of building systems and site inspections.
• Supervise operating team and inform Site Manager of conditions affecting services and tenant comfort.
• Develop annual maintenance plan and schedule preventive maintenance with data centre personnel.
• Monitor electrical and mechanical equipment supporting the facility and critical operations.
• Analyse system operation to diagnose problems and take corrective action.
• Write M&E related reports and findings; ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Ensure staff adhere to site SOP and respond to alarms 24/7 within defined timelines.
• Provide preliminary and post-incident reports and report engineering matters to Regional team.
• Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate to vendors when necessary.

POSITION GOALS

• Primary responsibility is to overseeing day to day efficient operations and maintenance of all building systems, including the inspection of the site.
• Responsible for the supervision of the operating team. He will apprise the site Manager of any and all conditions affecting building services and tenant comfort. The specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to tenant services, staff supervision and development, purchasing and technical proficiency.

Duties And Responsibilities

Critical Environment Management (CEM)

• The implementation of the client’s & JLL’s Critical Environment Management program.
• Supervises and directs critical operation staff.
• Develop annual maintenance plan.
• Will work with the Manager and data centre personnel to schedule equipment to be taken off line so that preventative maintenance can be performed.
• Monitors operation of electrical and mechanical equipment supporting the facility and facility’s critical operations.
• Requires the ability to analyse the operation of the various systems, determine the cause of any problem / malfunctions and corrective action as required.
• Proficiency in writing M&E related report and finding
• Ensure Safety protocol are adhered to JLL requirement
• Ensure operation staff adhered to the site specific Standard Operating procedure
• Available 24/7 and respond to any alarm within agreed timeline
• Provide preliminary and post incident report for any incident within agreed timeline
• Provide reports on the engineering matters to Regional team on timely manner
• Troubleshoot any minor engineering matter and elevate to vendor if support required

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Education - Diploma or Bachelors Degree education, 1-2 years in trades or equivalent. HVAC and electrical engineering training helpful
• Job Experience - 1-2 years of experience in engineering and maintenance supervision and management
• Experience in data centre management is an advantage
