Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a senior Export Manager to lead international export and regional trading initiatives from Penang. You will own commercial strategy, distributor relationships, and end-to-end P&L for multi-market territories including Singapore, Brunei, East Malaysia, India, and ASEAN, reporting directly to the Deputy CEO.

You will spearhead market-entry planning, cross-border expansion, and capability-building within the commercial team, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability

Qualifications

The Export Manager will take full commercial and operational ownership over the international export business alongside key cross-border regional territories (including Singapore, Brunei, East Malaysia, and targeted overseas markets such as India and ASEAN).

Reporting directly to the Deputy CEO, this senior commercial role bridges strategic market-entry planning, distributor turnaround, team capability building, and P&L optimization across a diverse multi-category product portfolio.

Job Description

• Commercial Growth & Export Strategy: Formulate and execute multi-year business plans to scale the export footprint across assigned international territories (including ASEAN and India) and regional hubs (Singapore, Brunei, and East Malaysia).

• Distributor & Channel Governance: Conduct regular performance reviews with overseas distributors, importers, and regional channel partners; optimize route-to-market models, stock turnover, and in-market inventory aging.

• Brand Turnaround & Market Penetration: Lead commercial turnaround and recovery strategies for legacy and agency product lines to exceed historical market share and sales volumes.

• Commercial P&L & Financial Governance: Manage regional trade margins, volume forecasting, credit risk, and collection discipline to safeguard commercial profitability and working capital liquidity.

• Cross-Border Travel & Operations: Undertake substantial market visits across regional destinations (Singapore, East Malaysia, India, and other emerging export markets) to prospect new accounts and oversee joint business plans.

• Organization & Succession Planning: Build sustainable operating systems and mentor local and in-market commercial personnel, ensuring leadership continuity and succession planning across assigned divisions.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Marketing, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 3–5 years of commercial sales experience in FMCG / Food & Beverage, with a proven track record managing Export Sales, Cross-Border Trading, or Regional Distributor Networks (Singapore, East Malaysia, or ASEAN).

• Demonstrated capability in leading brand turnarounds, managing trade profitability margins, and enforcing credit control / risk management protocols.

• Experience handling diverse food categories, including confectionery, beverages, sauces, or packaged agency goods.
