Qualifications

• RN or equivalent nursing qualification recognised by regulatory body
• Minimum 2–3 years in operating theatre or surgical setting
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments and aseptic techniques
• Attention to detail with infection control and patient safety
• Ability to work calmly under pressure in fast-paced theatre
• Excellent communication and teamwork with multidisciplinary teams
• Able to stand for long periods and assist with patient/equipment handling
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices
• ALS or equivalent certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain operating theatre environment ensuring sterile equipment
• Assist surgical teams by providing instruments and supplies
• Monitor aseptic technique to prevent contamination
• Document procedures including equipment and specimens
• Support patient care before, during and after surgery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff
• Maintain clean, organised and safe theatre per infection control rules
• Assist with recovery and post-operative care
• Contribute to training and mentoring of junior staff and students
