Job summary

Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) is seeking an Executive, Research to assist in strategic planning and oversee socioeconomic research initiatives for Perak's state government. You will conduct studies, manage projects, and develop reports, dashboards, and policy recommendations while coordinating with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners, ensuring governance and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, or related field; Master’s considered an added advantage.
• 2-3 years in socioeconomic research, project management, writing & publication, and consultancy.
• Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking abilities.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (SPSS, NVivo, Stata, MATLAB, etc.).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Knowledge of policy development and technical writing.

Institut Darul Ridzuan (IDR) is the think tank for the Perak state government, dedicated to driving impactful policies and strategic initiatives. We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Executive, Research to join us.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in strategic planning, execution, and monitoring of research & consultancy projects.

Conduct socioeconomic research and manage project implementation.

Support risk assessment and mitigation strategies.

Develop research reports, policy recommendations, and publications.

Supporting the development and implementation of big data analytics strategies.

Collecting, cleaning, managing, and analysing large datasets relevant to economic and business environments.

Translating data into meaningful insights through dashboards, reports, and visualizations.

Engage with stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners.

Ensure adherence to governance, quality, and ethical research standards.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, International Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree will be considered an added advantage.
