Job summary

Gadang Group of Companies seeks an Executive, Contract (Quantity Surveyor) on a contract basis. The role is based in Kuala Lumpur and focuses on managing project costs, contracts and commercial matters across construction projects.

Responsibilities include procurement recommendations, tender review, cost analyses for variations, interim certificates, and payment processing. The position requires coordinating with QS/Consultants and ensuring contract compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Quantity Surveying and 2–6 years of relevant contract administration experience.
• Analytical, detail-oriented, organized with ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, cost control and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recommendations for contractor award procurement.
• Review tender documents and perform quantity take-offs.
• Conduct cost analysis for variation orders and prepare cost reports.
• Prepare interim certificates for contractor payments and review project accounts.
• Verify consultants’ fee claims and ensure contract compliance.
• Coordinate material delivery, process supplier payments and procure goods.
• Assist the project team with QS tasks and other duties as assigned.

About the role

We are seeking an Executive, Contract (Quantity Surveyor) to join Gadang Group of Companies on a contract basis. This is a strategic role within our surveying division, based in Kuala Lumpur. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial part in managing project costs, contracts, and commercial matters across our construction projects. You will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency, contract compliance, and delivering value for money on all assigned projects. This contract position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and dynamic construction projects whilst contributing to the financial success and commercial integrity of our operations.

Key responsibilities

Contract & Procurement

• Prepare recommendations for contractor award procurement.
• Review and verify tender documents, including quantity take-offs.
• Conduct cost analysis for contractors’ variation orders.
• Evaluate quotations and prepare cost comparison reports.

Project & Cost Management

• Prepare interim certificates for contractor payments.
• Liaise with QS/Consultants in reviewing and finalizing project accounts.
• Verify and process consultants’ fee claims.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all contracts and documentation comply with company policies and procedures.
• Handle procurement of materials.
• Coordinate material delivery schedules between contractors and suppliers.
• Process supplier payments.

Team Support & Other Duties

• Assist the project team in all QS-related tasks.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the superior and/or management.

What were looking for

• Bachelor Degree in Quantity Surveying
• 2–6 years of relevant experience in contract administration, preferably in property development
• Strong knowledge of QS, contracts and cost control.
• Analytical, detail-oriented and well-organized with the ability to manage timelines.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, terms, and conditions (including lump sum, cost-reimbursable, and design-build contracts).
• Team player with a problem-solving mindset.
• High integrity with a strong sense of compliance.
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Able to work at the Gua Musang, Kelantan site, 6 working days a week (Monday -Thursday & Saturday), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
