Job summary

CARSOME Sdn Bhd in Taiping, Malaysia, is seeking an organised vehicle inventory coordinator to keep the branch's stock accurate and vehicles ready for customers.

You will inspect vehicles, support collections, coordinate transfers with Logistics, and maintain records in internal systems, reporting to Branch Operations.

Qualifications

• SPM, Diploma or higher in any field.
• Automotive background or education is an advantage.
• At least 2 years in automotive or inventory related work.
• Valid driving licence with a clean record, and willingness to travel.
• Good communication skills and team interaction ability.
• Able to multitask and prioritise in a busy environment.
• Independent work style with teamwork mindset.
• Quality-first mindset for keeping cars in top condition.
• Familiarity with JPJ or Puspakom procedures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle handover checks and pre-delivery inspections.
• Inspect vehicles and keep records up to date.
• Keep vehicles tidy and arrange washes and touch-ups.
• Prepare cars for test drives and recheck afterwards.
• Ensure JPJ/Puspakom renewals are on time.
• Conduct regular stock counts for inventory accuracy.
• Update internal systems for moved or collected cars.
• Tag and organise car keys for easy tracking.
• Prepare vehicles for collection and assist dealer/customer collections.
• Coordinate vehicle transfers with Logistics and manage loading/unloading.
• Arrange vehicle photoshoots and keep movement records.
• Take on ad hoc tasks to support branch operations.

Job description

About You

You're hands-on, organized, and love cars. In this role, you'll be the person who keeps our branch's car inventory running smoothly every day, making sure every vehicle is accounted for, well maintained, and ready for customers. You'll work closely with internal teams such as Logistics and Branch Operations to keep cars moving between branches and yards without a hitch. You'll report directly to the Branch Operations Assistant Manager.

Your Day-to-Day

Vehicle Handover & Inspection

• Carry out vehicle handover checks and pre-delivery inspections to make sure every car meets our quality standards.
• Inspect vehicles coming in and going out of the branch, and keep records up to date.
• Look after the general upkeep of vehicles, including arranging car washes and touch-ups.
• Prepare cars for test drives and check them again afterwards.
• Make sure vehicle inspections (e.g. Puspakom) are renewed on time.
• Conduct regular stock counts to keep inventory accurate.
• Update our internal systems whenever a car is moved or collected.
• Keep car keys properly tagged and organised for easy tracking.

Collection Support

• Prepare vehicles for collection by checking availability and arranging parking and transport.
• Support dealer and customer collections, including final inspections.
• Receive and hand over vehicles transferred from other branches.

Vehicle Transfer & Logistics

• Work with the Logistics team to coordinate vehicle transfers between branches.
• Support vehicle movement, including loading and unloading cars for transport.
• Arrange vehicle photoshoots when needed.
• Keep transfer and movement records updated in our systems.

Other Responsibilities

• Take on ad hoc tasks and projects from time to time to support branch operations.

Your Know-How

• SPM, Diploma, or any higher qualification in any field.
• An automotive background or education is an advantage.
• At least 2 years of working experience in the automotive industry or any related field involving inventory management.
• A valid driving licence with a clean record, and willingness to travel.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels.
• Able to multitask, prioritise, and think on your feet.
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
• A quality-first mindset and pride in keeping our cars in top condition.
• Familiarity with JPJ or Puspakom procedures is a plus.
