The Examination Officer manages and coordinates all Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel examinations, as well as internal school examinations. The role ensures full compliance with examination-board regulations, policies and deadlines, and acts as the main point of contact between the school, examination boards, students, parents and relevant staff on all examination-related matters.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate all Cambridge International and Pearson Edexcel examinations, ensuring full compliance with examination-board regulations, policies and deadlines
- Act as the main point of contact between the school, examination boards, students, parents and relevant staff on all international examination-related matters
- Manage the complete examination cycle, including candidate entries, amendments, withdrawals, transfers, late entries, examination arrangements and post-results services
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date and confidential records of candidates, examination entries, results, examination documents and related correspondence
- Plan and coordinate external examination timetables in consultation with school leadership and relevant academic departments
- Coordinate all examination arrangements, including examination rooms, seating plans, candidate registers, examination materials, invigilation rotas and required examination equipment
- Recruit, brief and coordinate examination invigilators and ensure that all examination staff understand and follow the required examination procedures
- Receive, securely store, distribute and dispatch confidential examination materials and completed examination scripts in accordance with examination-board requirements
- Manage examination incidents, irregularities, malpractice concerns and special consideration requests in accordance with examination-board regulations and school procedures
- Coordinate and administer all internal school examinations, including mock, mid-year and end-of-year examinations
About you
- Bachelor's Degree, Postgraduate Diploma or Professional Degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in examination administration, preferably within an international school
- Proven experience in managing Cambridge International and/or Pearson Edexcel examinations, including candidate entries, examination timetables, examination materials, results and post-results services
- Good knowledge of Cambridge and Pearson examination regulations, procedures and deadlines
- Understanding of examination security, malpractice procedures, access arrangements and special consideration
- Strong administrative, record-keeping and IT skills, with the ability to use examination portals and school management systems
- Excellent organisational, time-management and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure, particularly during examination periods
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak examination periods when required
