Job summary

Leighton Asia in Malaysia invites high-calibre candidates for an Estimation role. Responsibilities include inputting BOQ into estimation software, preparing subcontractor packages, issuing enquiries, and evaluating proposals.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of cost estimation for labour, materials and plant, and excellent coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate pricing and timely tendering.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in construction or building estimation
• Strong knowledge of cost estimation, including labour, materials, and plant
• Experience in managing subcontractor and supplier engagement on commercial and technical matters
• Good coordination and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Attention to detail with the ability to ensure accurate and timely information

Responsibilities

• Input Book of Quantities into the current estimation software
• Preparing subcontractor packages (Drawings, specification, BoQ and invitation to tender)
• Issuing subcontractor and supplier enquiries
• Analysis quotation in CATS, and recommending the selected subcontractor
• Conduct cost analysis and formulate pricing of labour, materials and plant cost breakdown
• Evaluate subcontractor’s proposals and recommend acceptance or otherwise
• Review contract documents
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers and assist in the maintenance of company systems
• Maintain accurate information by validating pricing information
• All works are carried out in accordance with the defined safety procedures and guidelines.
