Job summary

MAXVOLT SDN. BHD. is seeking a skilled Estimator to join our Kota Kemuning, Selangor-based construction team. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment and other project expenses, and develop competitive bids that support project success.

Responsibilities include analyzing plans, obtaining quotations, maintaining cost data, and advising on pricing during pre-contract activities. Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience as an Estimator in construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, costs and industry standards.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications accurately.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyse project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand project scope and requirements
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labour, equipment and other project expenses
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing
• Develop tender documents and bid proposals in a clear, professional format for client submission
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and other departments to clarify project requirements and resolve estimating queries
• Maintain a comprehensive database of historical cost data, labour rates and supplier information
• Monitor and track changes to project scope and provide updated cost estimates accordingly
• Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures in all estimating activities
• Support the pre-contract phase by responding to client enquiries and negotiations regarding pricing

This is a full-time position based in Kota Kemuning, Selangor, where you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate cost estimates for our construction projects. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, evaluating material and labour costs, and providing competitive bids that support our business growth and project success. This position is integral to our pre-construction phase, directly influencing project profitability and our competitive positioning in the market.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 years' experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, costs and industry standards
• Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications accurately
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations and safety standards in Malaysia
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
