Job summary

Control Risks, partnering with an international data center client, is seeking an experienced project governance professional to lead ESMS implementation and governance in Malaysia. Based in Johor Bahru, you will collaborate with Sustainability, Risk, Operations, Safety, People, Procurement, and external advisors to translate requirements into practical processes and manage delivery to milestones.

You will build governance foundations, coordinate actions, track progress, and ensure

Qualifications

Experience in environmental and social management systems compliance or related fields.
Proven ability to manage complex cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
Strong governance capabilities: action tracking, reporting and delivery management.
Experience working with consultants/advisors and translating recommendations into implementation.
Familiarity with ESMS frameworks (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles) preferred.
Excellent written communication for governance materials and updates.

Responsibilities

Drive ESMS implementation roadmap with clear actions, owners and timelines.
Coordinate ESMS governance rhythms, progress tracking, and escalation processes.
Coordinate delivery of ESMS improvement actions across policies and procedures.
Embed ESMS requirements into day-to-day operations with local owners.
Maintain evidence and documentation for external reporting and assurance-readiness.
