Job summary

Sandisk is seeking a Backend Equipment Technician in Malaysia to diagnose and repair non-functioning equipment in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. You will dismantle, adjust, and assemble equipment using schematics and manuals while performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting complex issues.

You will work with Engineering on new installations, mentor junior technicians, and ensure reliable operation with attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

Backend Equipment Technician

Backend Equipment Technician perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems in non‑functioning equipment used in Backend Process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• ProvidesManufacturing and Equipment supportneeds in a rapidly changing development and high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Dismantles, adjusts, repairs, and assembles equipment according to schematics, repair manuals, or specifications.
• Performs preventive maintenance,repairs, and troubleshooting diagnosis on production equipment.
• Resolves non-standard problems, works with minimal supervision, and can adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
• Must be a self-starter capable of managing own activities as well as supporting team activities.
• Works with Engineering to support new equipment installations and improvement initiatives.
• This role requires reliable presence to support operational and team objectives. Employees are expected to maintain regular attendance aligned with the company’s work schedule.

Required

• Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical/ Electronics/ Mechatronics

Preferred

• Proficient attroubleshooting electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and PC software/hardware related issues.
• Ability to use schematics, hand tools, electrical gauges and common test equipment for calibration, diagnosis and repair of equipment.
• Ability to understand PLC system.
• Ability to use vision system will be an added advantage.
• Self-motivator; ability to work independently under general guidance and direction
• High level attention to detail with methodical approach to troubleshooting and project management
• Provide leadership to other technicians through training and mentorship.
• Drive solutions and guidelines by recommending and writing maintenance procedures.
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with peers, engineering, and managers.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to monitor equipment performance, diagnose root cause, and drive factory improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of Auto VMI, Auto Labeling and Auto Packing equipment/process would be an added advantage.
