A leading automotive service provider in Malaysia is seeking an Environment, Health & Safety Senior Executive to ensure workplace safety and regulatory compliance across various locations. The role involves managing safety inspections, leading safety training, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian OSH laws. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of EHS experience, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Office. The Environment, Health & Safety Senior Executive is responsible for ensuring workplace safety, regulatory compliance, training, inspections, and environmental management across all automotive workshops, branches, and office locations. This role supports safe daily operations for technicians, mechanics, and branch teams while driving continuous safety improvement.
Ensure compliance with Malaysian OSH laws (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967) and DOSH/JKKP requirements.
Update and implement changes related to EHS regulations and standards.
Lead the OSH Committee, organize meetings, and follow up on action items.
Conduct inspections at workshops, body & paint, showrooms, and offices facilities
Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
Investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
Lead internal safety audits and ensure the closure of findings.
Ensure all workshop technicians and contractors follow safety requirements during vehicle repair and maintenance.
Monitor safe operation of automotive equipment such as vehicle lifts, jacks, power tools, compressed air systems, and welding/spray booths.
Conduct toolbox meetings and site safety briefings.
Conduct fire drills, evacuation exercises, and emergency response training.
Maintain emergency equipment and update the Emergency Response Plan (ERP).
Conduct safety inductions for staff and contractors.
Deliver training on safe workshop practices, PPE usage, chemical handling, and emergency response.
Organize safety campaigns related to automotive risks (flammable materials, hot work, noise exposure, slips and trips).
Maintain documentation of inspections, incidents, training, PPE issuance, and OSH reports.
Prepare monthly EHS performance reports for management review.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of scheduled waste: used engine oil, filters, batteries, paint sludge, chemical containers, contaminated rags, etc.
Maintain DOE-compliant records in e-SWIS 2, for all branches
Coordinate with licensed waste contractors for timely disposal.
Train staff on waste handling procedures and environmental compliance.
Develop, review, and implement SOPs, Checklist and Operational Procedures for safe workshop and branch operations.
Lead HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment & Risk Control) for workshops, offices, and automotive operations.
Manage safe handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of chemicals, including paints, solvents, lubricants, and other hazardous substances.
Maintain and train staff on MSDS, PPE usage, spill response, and emergency procedures.
Ensure compliance with DOSH, DOE, and company safety standards while continuously improving safety processes across all branches.
Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS or OSH roles (preferably automotive, industrial, or facility management).
Basic or advanced OSH certification such as SHO (NIOSH), Safety Passport, or equivalent recognized by DOSH/JKKP.
Strong understanding of Malaysian OSH and DOE regulations.
Strong observation, analytical, and reporting skills.
Independent, proactive, and able to work with workshop teams, branch managers, and contractors.
Familiar with safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
