TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Engineering Test Engineer to join our Simpang Ampat, Penang team.

This full-time role focuses on designing, developing and executing testing protocols to validate product functionality and ensure quality and reliability. As part of a dynamic engineering group, you will work with mechanical and electronic components, calibrate equipment, analyse results and prepare technical reports.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in testing, QA or product validation.
• Experience with data analysis and statistics.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop test plans, test cases and testing strategies for mechanical and electronic components.
• Execute functional, performance, reliability and environmental testing.
• Operate and calibrate testing equipment and instrumentation.
• Document results and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Identify defects and communicate issues to engineering/production.
• Collaborate with design engineers to meet testing objectives.
• Perform root cause analysis on test failures.
• Develop testing methodologies and automation to improve efficiency.

About the role

TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Engineering Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in Simpang Ampat, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability and performance of our engineering products and systems. As an Engineering Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and executing comprehensive testing protocols that validate product functionality and meet stringent industry standards. Key responsibilities

• Design and develop test plans, test cases and testing strategies for mechanical and electronic components and systems
• Execute functional, performance, reliability and environmental testing on products to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and instrumentation, including calibration and troubleshooting
• Document test results, analyse data and prepare detailed technical reports with findings and recommendations
• Identify, document and communicate defects and issues discovered during testing to engineering and production teams
• Collaborate with design engineers and product development teams to understand technical requirements and testing objectives
• Perform root cause analysis on test failures and support corrective action implementation
• Develop and improve testing methodologies and automation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations and company procedures throughout all testing activities
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering team

What we are looking for

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• 2-5 years of experience in testing, quality assurance or product validation within a manufacturing or electronics environment
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, protocols and industry standards relevant to mechanical and electronic products
• Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting testing equipment and instrumentation
• Experience with data analysis, statistical methods and technical documentation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve technical issues
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) is advantageous
• Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing projects simultaneously
