TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Simpang Ampat, Penang, is seeking an experienced FA Engineer to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of electronic products.

You will conduct failure analysis, investigate root causes, and drive corrective actions to enhance manufacturing processes and product design. With 3–5 years in failure analysis or related roles, you will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams, prepare detailed reports, and support production

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in failure analysis or related roles within electronics manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit boards, and semiconductor device characteristics.
• Proficiency with diagnostic/testing equipment ( oscilloscopes, multimeters, thermal cameras, microscopes).
• Experience with failure analysis techniques (SEM, X-ray analysis).
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IPC, JESD standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive failure analysis on electronic components, circuit boards, and assembled products to identify root causes of defects and malfunctions.
• Perform detailed investigations using diagnostic equipment and testing methodologies to document failure modes.
• Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to implement CAPA based on findings.
• Prepare detailed failure analysis reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations for improvements.
• Support troubleshooting of production issues and provide technical guidance to manufacturing teams.
• Conduct component and material testing to verify quality and compliance with specifications and standards.
• Participate in root cause analysis meetings and present technical findings to cross-functional teams.
• Maintain accurate records of analysis work, test data, and corrective actions.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced FA Engineer to join TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. in Simpang Ampat, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our electronic products and systems. As an FA Engineer, you will be at the forefront of failure analysis and troubleshooting, directly contributing to product improvement, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction. Your technical expertise and analytical skills will be instrumental in identifying root causes of failures and implementing effective corrective actions that enhance our manufacturing processes and product design.

What you'll be doing

Conduct comprehensive failure analysis on electronic components, circuit boards, and assembled products to identify root causes of defects and malfunctions

Perform detailed technical investigations using advanced diagnostic equipment and testing methodologies to document failure modes and mechanisms

Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) based on failure analysis findings

Prepare detailed failure analysis reports with clear documentation of findings, conclusions, and recommendations for process or design improvements

Support troubleshooting of production issues and provide technical guidance to manufacturing and assembly teams

Conduct component and material testing to verify quality and compliance with specifications and industry standards

Participate in root cause analysis meetings and present technical findings to cross-functional teams and management

Maintain accurate records of all analysis work, test data, and corrective actions taken

Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in failure analysis and electronic engineering

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in failure analysis, quality engineering, or related roles within the electronics manufacturing industry

Strong knowledge of electronic components, circuit board design, and semiconductor device characteristics

Proficiency in using diagnostic and testing equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, thermal imaging cameras, and microscopes

Experience with failure analysis techniques including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray analysis, or other advanced diagnostic methods

Solid understanding of quality standards and methodologies such as ISO 9001, IPC standards, and JESD standards relevant to electronics

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare clear technical reports and presentations

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with data analysis tools is advantageous

Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese would be beneficial but not essential
