Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive (Malaysia) is seeking an Engineering & Projects (Facility Operations) Intern to work on the floor, supporting validation, documentation, and optimization of critical facility systems. You will gain hands-on experience in IQ/OQ, process mapping, and data-driven improvements.

The role involves developing SOPs and collaborating with the engineering team to drive utility optimization and documentation, while learning the essentials of facility operations at a global FMCG plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a reputable university.
• CGPA 3.2 or above preferred.
• Available to commit to a minimum 6-month internship.
• Solid understanding of basic mechanical or electrical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist in IQ and OQ implementation and validation of equipment.

Engineering & Projects (Facility Operations) Intern

Reporting directly to our Facilities Engineer, you will be on the floor, actively supporting the optimization, validation, and documentation of the critical systems that power a global FMCG facility. This is a rare opportunity to gain highly sought-after technical skills in industrial validation, process mapping, and facility operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and improving Installation Qualification (IQ) and Operational Qualification (OQ), ensuring machinery is installed correctly and operates at peak performance
• Prepare, study, and analyze technical process flows, helping the engineering team identify bottlenecks and utility optimization opportunities
• Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and critical engineering documentation for technicians to use daily
• Drive data collection efforts, utilizing digital tools to track facility performance and update the core engineering database

About you

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or a closely related technical field) from a reputable university
• Strong academic track record (CGPA of 3.2 and above preferred)
• Available to commit to a highly immersive internship for a minimum of 6 months
• Possess a solid understanding of basic mechanical or electrical engineering principles
• Highly adaptable and skilled in using collaborative tech tools, specifically Google Workspace (Google Slides, Google Sheets, and Google Forms)
• Analytical, curious, and willing to work on the shop floor to understand how complex facility systems operate
