Agro Snow Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. seeks an Engineering Manager to lead the Engineering Department across Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, and Wastewater.

You will drive project execution from construction through commissioning to commercial operation, ensuring safety, quality, and on-budget delivery. The role requires 8–10 years in food manufacturing or related sectors, with 5 years in people leadership and hands-on greenfield project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, Industrial or related field.
• 8–10 years of engineering experience in food manufacturing or similar industries.
• 5+ years of leading engineering teams in manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with greenfield projects, commissioning, start-up, or expansion.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Engineering Department (Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, and Wastewater).
• Oversee plant construction, commissioning, start-up, testing, and handover to operations.
• Manage budgets, costs, and capital expenditure for engineering projects.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

Engineering Manager - Mechanical & Electrical

Agro Snow Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is a joint venture between Agrocorp International Pte Ltd (Singapore) and MEGMILK SNOW BRAND Co., Ltd. (Japan). We are establishing Malaysia's first state-of-the-art manufacturing facility for premium plant-based ingredients, including Pea Protein Isolate, Pea Starch, and Pea Fibre for the global food and nutrition industry.

As we progress through our greenfield plant construction, commissioning, and start-up phase, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Engineering Department and play a key role in bringing the new manufacturing facility into successful commercial operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Engineering Department, including Mechanical, Electrical, Utilities, and Wastewater Engineering teams.
• Lead engineering activities throughout plant construction, equipment installation, commissioning, start-up, testing, validation, and commercial operation.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects while ensuring completion within budget, timeline, and quality requirements.
• Oversee the operation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimization of plant utility systems, including:
• Steam Boiler
• Cooling Towers
• Chilled Water System
• Air Compressors
• HVAC & AHU Systems
• Electrical Distribution Systems
• Instrumentation
• PLC/SCADA Automation Systems
• Provide engineering and technical support to Production, QA/QC, Maintenance, Utilities, and Project teams.
• Lead equipment installation, machine acceptance, commissioning, performance testing, and handover from project to operations.
• Manage engineering contractors, consultants, OEM suppliers, and service providers.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, food safety requirements, environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Prepare engineering budgets, monitor project costs, and control capital expenditure.
• Lead engineering troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant reliability, efficiency, and energy performance.
• Develop engineering procedures, SOPs, technical documentation, equipment standards, and engineering KPIs.
• Coach, mentor, and develop the Engineering team while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8–10 years of relevant engineering experience in food manufacturing, dairy, ingredients, grain milling, starch, edible oil, pharmaceutical, chemical, or other process manufacturing industries.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in greenfield projects, plant commissioning, start-up, or factory expansion projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of utility systems, mechanical equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, PLC/SCADA, and engineering project management.
• Experience managing contractors, OEM suppliers, engineering budgets, and project schedules.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, leadership, communication, and people management skills.
• Willing to be based at Tanjung Langsat, Pasir Gudang, Johor.
