Job summary

Grand Venture Technology (Penang) Sdn. Bhd. seeks an experienced engineering leader to head the engineering team, allocate resources, set department goals, and ensure disciplined execution of engineering activities.

You will liaise with customers on technical requirements, drive manufacturing process improvements, optimize productivity, and champion quality and delivery targets. A strong background in mechanical manufacturing, GD&T, ERP audits, and cross‑functional leadership is required to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience in precision manufacturing environments.
• At least 3 years in leadership or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, GD&T and process optimization.
• Experience coordinating internal and external audits and ERP system implementations is a plus.

Job description

Lead and manage the engineering team, allocate resources, establish departmental objectives, and ensure effective execution of engineering activities.

Liaise with customers on technical requirements, engineering specifications, manufacturability assessments, engineering changes, and technical problem-solving.

Drive process optimization, productivity enhancement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.

Work closely with Operations teams to investigate technical issues, conduct root cause analysis, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with customer requirements and quality standards.

Collaborate with relevant departments to resolve operational issues and ensure engineering projects meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.

Ensure proper control of engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and engineering changes. Support quality audits, system improvements, and the implementation of relevant engineering and operational systems.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience in precision manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, or a related manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling and fixture development, engineering drawings, GD&T, and manufacturing process optimization.

Strong leadership, project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage multiple engineering projects effectively.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Experience in conducting or coordinating internal and external audits, as well as involvement in ERP system implementation, migration, or process integration is an added advantage.
