Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers across design, development, and production. You will oversee project execution, drive improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance while managing budgets and resources.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and hands-on experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. A PMP or Lean Six Sigma background is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required plus 5+ years in engineering with 1–3 years in management.
• Strong leadership, team-building, and people management skills are essential.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities are required.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software/tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Solid understanding of project management methodologies and budgeting experience.
• Knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory requirements is important.

Responsibilities

A. Job Responsibilities / Authorized

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers (design, development, or production-based).
• Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.

• Review and approve technical drawings, BOMs, and engineering change requests.
• Collaborate with product, QA, manufacturing, and operations teams to align engineering goals.
• Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Monitor performance metrics, resource allocation, and productivity of the engineering team.
• Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, yield, downtime, and cost reduction.
• Manage budgets, tools, and timelines for projects.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges.
• Recruit, train, and evaluate engineering staff performance.
• Any other task assigned by management.
• Preferred: Professional certifications, industry-specific qualifications, experience with Lean/Six Sigma, PMP, or relevant engineering software/tools.
