We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead plant maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment, utilities, and facilities. This role oversees preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, statutory compliance, equipment improvement, maintenance reporting, and team coordination to support production continuity and operational excellence.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily maintenance activities for plant equipment, utilities, and facilities to minimize downtime and support production needs.
- Lead troubleshooting, corrective action, and root cause analysis for mechanical, electrical, or process-related breakdowns.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance (PM) schedules, equipment history, and improvement plans based on maintenance data and recurring issues.
- Supervise maintenance supervisors, technicians, and contractors to ensure maintenance works are completed safely, timely, and according to required standards.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to improve team capability and maintenance discipline.
- Coordinate closely with Production, Engineering, QA, Supply Chain, and other departments on equipment issues, specifications, complaints, and improvement actions.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company ESH, GMP, food safety, quality, and statutory requirements.
- Liaise with government authorities, certified service providers, and external contractors on regulatory inspections, certifications, and compliance matters.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment database, SOP/WI documentation, SAP/CMMS updates, and monthly maintenance performance reports.
- Initiate and support machine improvement, reliability improvement, downtime reduction, energy efficiency, and maintenance cost control initiatives.
- Recommend equipment repair, upgrade, spare parts planning, or replacement to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and equipment utilization.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant manufacturing maintenance experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance (PM), corrective maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and plant reliability improvement.
- Experience in food manufacturing, process manufacturing, or FMCG environment is an advantage.
- Experience using SAP, CMMS, or maintenance data systems is an added advantage.
- Good understanding of statutory compliance, ESH requirements, GMP, food safety, and audit documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Able to manage urgent breakdowns, multiple priorities, contractors, and improvement projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
